Wine is about much more than just the liquid itself. It is about the people, history and love that somehow gets bottled up and offered to friends and strangers alike throughout the world. At CCWWS, we are beyond fortunate to partner with people who live and breathe every aspect of wine making. One of our dearest friends, who we’ve worked with for over nine years, is Filippo Antonelli that makes wines from the heart of Umbria in Montefalco. His combination of long standing tradition mixed with the amazing terroir and Filippo’s creativity and dedication, help to create wines that are unique and enjoyable throughout all price points. We have visited and stayed at his vineyards many times, most recently in April, and every single time he has made us feel like Famiglia. His hospitality and generosity perfectly mirrors the utmost care and love that he puts into everything he makes, not only wine but, olive oil, honey and his new restaurant enterprise!

In addition to the wines from Montefalco, Filippo also produces wines at Castello di Torre in Pietra in Lazio just outside of Rome that are amazing value for their quality. The wines of Antonelli have gained great fame both in Italy and internationally with every new vintage improving with each passing year! From their signature Montefalco Sagrantino, a huge wine with immense depth and complexity, to their light and lively Grechetto, easy to drink and the perfect partner for warm weather, Filippo’s wines over-deliver and have gained a very loyal following around the world.

Antonelli San Marco is a wine and farming estate which extends over an entire 170 hectares located centrally within Montefalco’s DOCG winemaking area. Since 2009 Antonelli has been moving to organic cultivation of their grapes. Already for some years their olives have been organically grown, now the vines will be also.
